Gauteng Provincial Mens Team
The Gauteng Provincial Mens team is known as the Gauteng Strikers. They participate in the CSA Provincial Three-day Competition and the CSA Provincial One-day Challenge. The team is coached by Grant Morgan.
The Gauteng Strikers have another successful season finishing in 2nd position in the Three-day Competition and 3rd in the One-day Competition. They were unbeaten in Three-day Cricket and played thirteen games, of which they won eight and drew five. It is only rain that robbed them of a certain victory against Northerns and a very possible win against Free State. They were the only unbeaten team in the Three-day competition. Western Province won the competition, but for a second consecutive year, the Gauteng Strikers have been very unlucky to come 2nd in this competition.
In the One-day Competition, the Gauteng Strikers have been a bit more inconsistent, but they have still played well. Out of the thirteen they have played, they won eight and lost five! Three of the losses have been close games but all the games have been competitive.
They have been the most consistent team in the country in both these competitions in the last two seasons. Something they can be proud of as the Gauteng Strikers. They are a proud and close knit unit.
