The Women’s provincial league has been divided into a National and Regional section with an annual system of promotion and relegation between two sections. The promotion and relegation takes place at a cricket week between the six teams in the National league and the 2 regional winners (coastal and inland pools).

Gauteng Womens Cricket is having some good showing on the field under the guidance of the coach Mr Johnson Mafa.
Girls School cricket in Gauteng is growing nicely. Currently we on a drive to grow primary school cricket. If any school wishes to start a Central Gauteng Lions girl’s cricket team, contact the Central Gauteng Lions and we will gladly assist in helping you promote the game with coaching clinics.
The primary and high school league commences in September and continue through until March.

Womens Club Cricket
We are proud of the on-going success of our Women's League, which continues to grow in popularity. The Central Gauteng Lions hosts fourteen Womens cricket clubs across Gauteng. The Central Gauteng Lions girls shown fantastic growth over last year. The U19 team placed second in the U19 Girls National Cricket Week in 2016/2017 season.
