Gauteng Umpires Association
Gauteng Umpires Association is an affiliate of Gauteng cricket board. The main purpose of this organization is to provide umpires to officiate matches that take place in the Gauteng Cricket board league structure. By doing this, it creates the opportunity for an umpire to show potential to progress to the top. |
Gauteng Cricket Scorers Association
This association has received the National Award for the best Scorer’s Association for the past 5 years. Its aim is to train scorers that officiate from provincial level to international level for matches being played at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium. This association provides the opportunity for people, that don’t play the sport, to take part. |
Gauteng Cricket Coaches Association
This is a newly formed affiliate of Gauteng Cricket Board. The aim is enhance the coaching skills from KFC mini cricket up to Level 3-certificates. The association has coaching forums every 2 months to provide up-to-date information and communicate on the latest coaching techniques. |
Gauteng High School Cricket Association
150 teams are currently playing in the weekday and Saturday leagues for High Schools. The High Schools also take part in provincial cricket weeks where players get selected to play in the Cricket South Africa national weeks. Both the Vaal area and the West Rand are part of this structure. |
Gauteng Primary Schools Cricket Association
This association has youngsters playing in schools leagues but is also introducing them to night cricket. The primary schools have cricket weeks being played to select a team that will play in the Cricket South Africa national U/13 weeks. The association also part take in regional festivals and are responsible for arranging local festivals for U/11, U/12 & U/13. The aim of these festivals is to provide more opportunities for players play cricket. |
Gauteng Blind and Deaf Cricket Association
Both these association are busy growing and participate at provincial level. These associations also play in the South African weeks. |
Gauteng Intellectually Impaired and Special Schools Cricket Association
These schools are being incorporated into the existing High Schools structures. Gauteng Cricket Board as well as the schools assist this body in creating the opportunity for all youngsters to play. |
